Film maker Pavel Franzusov asked young people from all over their world about their relationship with the Second World War. He artistically translated their stories into short films. Here you can learn about Carmen´s perspective from the US.

During the Second World War the USA began to recruit agricultural labourers from Mexico because of a shortage of domestic workers. Today, Carmen’s family hardly talks about these difficult times and the tough working conditions. For the future, Carmen hopes that American society can overcome its divisions and that the young generation learns from history.
